Make it big!

Still not an example of lettering, but this piece of art is really huge. How fun it would be to make letters in this size?

Not lettering, but could have been!

I like this one because of the size and crazy effort of making these artworks. The tools he uses may do well as calligraphy brushes as well. Look up his website www.andresamador.net to see a lot of examples. Some of them are huge, and very precisely designed. I think I will try sandlettering this summer!

Lettering on glass

This example impresses me by the speed and precision in which the calligraphy is performed. The artist has a steady hand, although his working position is not the best.

Sweeping Beauty II

An excellent example of livelettering! The shape of the letters and the 'tension' of the strokes are all a direct and natural consequence of how the brush hits the surface and of how the artist moves his body while creating the piece. Really really basic, no computer support!

livelettering hope

This video shows me at an occasion where I turned a quick painted picture into letters. The performance lasted about 13 minutes. Although the figure expresses a depressed situation, the letters at the end says "hope".

livelettering truth

This clip shows an example of my calligraphy, which I named "livelettering". This was the very first time the term "livelettering" was published on the internet, 24. oct. 2008. This video was the only hit with google that day. Funny to see how many hits you now get by searching livelettering today!

Alive

As a sort of protest against the data designed lettering, I want to focus the human made and organic and live lettering!
And especially I want to show the process of making the lettering, like a live performance!
I enjoy making calligraphy myself, and I love to see others do it as well.
